A labour of love a year in the making, The Opposite is Also True is a double CD that spotlights songwriter Mike Feuerstack’s (Woodenstars singer/songwriter/main guy and Julie Doiron band leader) uncompromising vision. The release has nine new songs, each repeated with an alternate version on a second disc. One may be lush while the other is stark. One may be a little bit country, the other is a little bit rock and roll. One may be sad, the other is heartbreaking. With arrangements differing in degrees from subtle to extreme, The Opposite is Also True explores delivery and its impact. Mike draws support from a rich well of musical friends. The CD features help from Julie Doiron, co-producer Dave Draves, rhythm section Jeremy Gara and Samir Khan (of Weights & Measures and Kepler), Josh Latour (of the Wooden Stars), and Doug Tielli (of The Silt and People From Earth).
